A company of friends rises in the funicular to meet unforgettably New Year's Eve on the top of the mountain. The guys are already anticipating how they will cheerfully slide down to the beat of the chimes and explosions of fireworks. But the adventure turns into a real nightmare, when in the midst of the holiday a flimsy trailer gets stuck over the precipice.。新兴宗教团体“美丽人生（Life is Beautiful）”，第三代教主吉川路易（藤原龙也饰）风流倜傥，言辞极具煽动性。在一个醉酒的夜晚，路易搭乘酒吧结识的神秘美女流美（水原希子饰）的汽车，对方的身份却让他着实一惊。未久，飞驰的跑车在某隧道内与一辆机车惨烈相撞。对方当场死亡，流美重伤昏迷不醒，路易则只受轻伤，逃过一劫。在此之后，教主的姐姐樱（原田麻由饰）安排弟弟去南方某个小岛暂避风头，并雇用新野（松田龙平饰）等三名保镖护卫路易的安全。与死神擦肩而过的路易切身感到生死无常，他试图解散教团，却遭到以母亲（大楠道代饰）为首的一众高层强烈反对。 风景如画的海边，死亡的气息肆意蔓延……。
